Application Now Open 2019 Reaching The Peak Awards

Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund will be hosting a women enterprise awards in partnership with Investong events.

The initiative is endorsed by the Northern Cape Office of the Premier since the launch of the first awards in 2016.

Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund Women Enterprise Development Conference and Awards is an annual event happening in August, to celebrate women’s month. Since the launch of the Northern Cape Women Enterprise Premier Awards competition in 2015, more than 300 entries have been received.

The enterprise awards aim to highlight and celebrate the achievements of female entrepreneurs and their contributions towards the development of the local economy, through job creation and equal opportunities within the province.

The competition is there to uplift and encourage women from different areas in the province to continue with entrepreneurship.

We recognize the tireless journey, hard work, outstanding achievements and vision of Small Business and Entrepreneurial success of Northern Cape women

This year’s awards will take place on the 28-29th of August 2019 under the theme “reaching the peak”. The nominations for the awards are currently open with 6 different categories that cover start-ups to more experienced businesses.
The awards will take off with a skills training masterclass on the 28th as women from the respective districts will be descending into Kimberley. The official award ceremony will take place on the 29th of April and will start with a breakfast show where Mme Reka thusa will share success stories with the audience present.

Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund addresses the challenges of women-owned enterprises. By offering the provision of credit for Women Enterprise Development and providing business development services to women enterprises.

 

2018 Awards

2018 Awards Winners Rock Solid

As part of celebrating the centenary of  Mama Albertina Sisulu, we have themed this year’s event “Rock Solid 2018”.

This is an inspiring moment in our annual calendar.

We recognize and acknowledge women who are contributing meaningfully to the economic growth and development of both our province and country.

The Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund’s Rock Solid awards took place on the 30TH August 2018. The gala at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley, Northern Cape.

The two-day event comprised of skills development workshops for entrepreneurs and the main conference which focused on the skills and attributes required to run a successful small business.

Entrepreneurs in various categories were rewarded for improving their businesses and progressing into product development and access to markets.

For 2018 there will still be six categories with three winners per category, derived from 93 potential winners.

 

We are extremely  excited at the level of interest shown, which is evident in the number of entries and the high calibre of entries, all of whom understand  that in order to attain excellence and to perform in ways that can be compared to other best practices and standards, one has to put oneself up for the scrutiny of one’s peers.

As a means to encourage further development, a skills workshop will also be held for different aspects of business.

Our province remain committed to continuously  recognizing and strengthening efforts to empower women.

There is a need to ensure that we enhance the capacity of women in business to improve their services and to realize the vision of a better life for all.

We celebrate women in various business ventures whose performance excels in terms of innovation and value for money, and we believe everyone here is a winner in their own right.

Through these awards, we are encouraging a culture that recognises supports and rewards business excellence.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE TRUST

Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund was designed to address the challenges of Women owned enterprises. Its objectives are as follows:

  1.  Provision of credit for Women Enterprise Development.
  2. Capacity building of women beneficiaries  
  3. Support and Mentoring
  4. Lobby and facilitate contract and investments that will be beneficial to women enterprises
  5. Support and facilitate development of linkages between women owned enterprises and big
    companies.

4. Youth  idea: Any 100% women-owned start-up business which has an innovative and sustainable business concept.

An overall winner – a businesswoman who has  achieved all of the above and proven herself an exceptional entrepreneur and leader – will be selected for the grand prize of R70 000 business grant, and a paid trip to the Enterprise and Supplier Development Conference in Johannesburg, October 2016

Welcome to the Annual Women’s Enterprise Development Awards, organized in partnership by the Mme Re Ka Thusa Trust Fund and the Northern Cape Premiers Office, hosted on 30 and 31 August 2016.

This year sees 4 Awards on offer, each celebrating and recognizing business success across the Northern Cape, giving businesses from every sector the opportunity to promote themselves at the highest level.

All short listed companies will be entitled to two free tickets to the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on the 30 and 31st of August 2016 at the MSCC Kimberley where they
will receive due recognition of their success, as well as coverage in the local media.
